The Yoga Lifestyle: Yoga Clothing for Before, After and During Your Yoga Workout

While the benefits of yoga are physical and mental, one of our favorite things about practicing yoga is the fashion. Yoga bottoms may have received a bad reputation because people wear them everywhere, but we’re here to show you that the yoga lifestyle gives you plenty of options. In our dream yoga wardrobe, this is what we’d wear before, during, and after the workout.

Lily Lotus Yoga Pants, Lulu Lemon Yoga Jacket, Havaiana Flip Flops

Pre-Workout: If you’re anything like us, you have about a thousand things to do before yoga class. We love these yoga bottoms from the Hawaii-based yoga line Lily Lotus; they’re so comfortable you may think you’re still in your pyjamas. Cover up with a Lulu Lemon jacket, and keep those toes free with some gold Havaiana slippers. Easy, fresh, and fun.

Lucy Shorts, Mika Yoga Wear Shorts and Headband

Workout: More and more people are practising hot yoga these days, so yoga shorts are everywhere. These Lucy shorts are comfortable and practical, and they’re just the right thing to show off your curves as you re-shape your body through yoga! You can also throw out your pre-conceived notions of sports bras (and while you’re at it, go ahead and throw away that ratty old sports bra). This bra comes in a feminine shape and fun colours that you won’t mind wearing all day. Keep your hair off of your face with a wide headband.

Fighting Eel Dress, Anthropologie Cardigan, Lulu Lemon Bag

Post-Workout: For many yoga practitioners, there’s a yoga lifestyle to live even after class is over. Keep it comfy by slipping into a flowy dress with a soft belted cardigan. Carry all your things around in this roomy yoga bag from Lulu Lemon. In these threads, you’ll keep that relaxed yoga mentality throughout your day!

Converse Shoes: It’s a Lifestyle Choice

Sport inspired clothing has been big business for many years and the Converse sneaker has probably been going for longer than most and is certainly well loved by many.

Sneakers Make a Scene Tagline

Originally created in the early 1900 by Marquis Mills, Converse as a winterised rubber soled footwear product for men, women and children was not produced until 1917. Converse has developed into an iconic brand over the past century that, today, is more about the lifestyle than about the usefulness of the shoe. This is demonstrated in their latest video entitled “Shoes are boring, wear sneakers”:

That is not to say that the Converse sneaker is not comfortable because, if you ask any of its fans, they will tell you that the Converse sneaker allows you the flexibility and comfort that you need for day to day life, as well as those whose life styles including being a rock god or doing ollies over a set of steps. As an ardent follower of Converse, I have to agree with their latest video that shoes are indeed very boring and I, for one, would never be seen in anything other than a pair of converse. I just wish I had the exciting lifestyle that everyone wearing Converse has in the video! Converse sneakers really are the ideal footwear for any fashionable men or women that would rather be skateboarding to a gig than catching a bus to a city job. Check out Converse’s latest video for more inspiration “footage” of what you can achieve if you wear a pair of Converse Sneakers.

Priced to Buy: Camo Printed Skinnies

Though not so much fans of hunting or violence, we absolutely adore the latest camouflage trend.  Making its rounds on the fashion front are trendy camo printed skinny trousers.  Mixing a typically masculine print into something flirty and feminine is always a do.  But, the unexpectedly chic pant has us wondering just how long they will be in-style.  And if we have to question, that in itself probably means not very long.  In that case, what price is worth the purchase?!

Lucky for you, we have done the research.  Here are three pairs of similar bottoms with three not so similar prices. One is simply silly.  One is a bit steep. One, so right…

Need Supply Co Camouflage

Silly: Need Supply Co, £127 – Silly… because the equivalent of a flight, digital camera, new mobile etc. could be purchased with that kind of money.  Almost a hundred and a half for a pair of trousers that bound to go out of style?  Psh… We don’t think so…

Camouflage Skinnies

Steep: Zara, £58 — Steep… because they are lovable, yet overpriced.  Surely you can find them for less if you continue reading are patient.

Camouflage Print Skinny Trousers on Sale

Steal: Pull & Bear, £9.99 — Steal…because nobody should actually spend money on invisible trousers [Get it? Invisible. Sorry – that was a terrible joke!] Ringing in at only £26– these bottoms are beaucoup bucks less than their high-maintenance siblings.  Who knows how long this fad will be fashionable, so best to buy them on a budget!

Now that you can participate in the cheeky camo skinnies, what do you plain to wear with the pair?

Top 5 Sporty Winter Boots/Wedges

It seems as though the sports luxe trend is here to stay and if you haven’t experimented with it then I have to ask – why not? It’s a fun look that sits between smart and casual which means that it’s super versatile. One of the strongest looks of this trend is the sporty shoe. Forget ugly running shoes or dreaded Crocs, this season it’s all about the sexy sporty look. That’s right; you can still look good whilst being comfortable. That’s music to my ears.

Metallic Wedge

Bronze Trainers New Look

Bronze Concealed Wedge Trainers from New Look

These bronze beauties from New Look have a concealed wedge enabling you to both mysteriously grow when you wear them and also be on trend with the metallic trend in S/S 2013. Wear with skinny jeans and an oversized jumper.

The White Pair

White Leather Hi-Tops

White Hi-Tops from ASOS

These white hi tops from ASOS are perfect for any time of year and would look equally good worn with jeans or a leather-look skater skirt.

Vintage Style

Brown Leather Wedge Trainers

Brown Wedge Boots from La Redoute

These wedges remind me of old boxing boots and would look great worn with a simple pair of jeans and a little bomber jacket – they’re stylish, versatile and on the right side of ‘tomboy’. Love.

The Sporty Heel

Black Heeled Chelsea Boots

Black Sporty Chelsea Boots from French Connection

These boots are sporty with their chunky platform, thick elastic side, and seam across the toe and they’re super sexy too with their spiky metallic heel. Wear with a biker jacket and racer back vest.

Pastel Wedges

Pastel Wedge Trainers

Wedge Trainers from Kurt Geiger

These wedge-heeled trainers are good enough to eat. Bringing together two major A/W and S/S trends, this pastel colour-blocked trainer reminds me of foam shrimps and bananas mixed with parma violets. NOTE: they might not taste as good as they look.
